Food & Drink / News Freddy's, Beloved, Boozy Vessel for All Our Anti-Atlantic Yards Anger, Gets Evicted!

Freddy's, basically the last business still operating in the Atlantic Yards footprint and a recent recipient of an L Magazine bar award, was served its 30-day eviction notice last week. According to the Voice, after what will likely have been the final appeal against the eminent domain land-grab was denied, Bruce Ratner's arena and condo construction project is due to break ground on March 11, and Freddy's will have until the beginning of April to evict their premises at 485 Dean Street. Hey, let's all go get drunk and pass out in front of bulldozers!

NOT TRUE, I AM THE MANAGER OF FREDDY'S BAR AND BACKROOM, AND WE DID GET A SIMPLE LETTER FROM EMPIRE STATE DEVELOPMENT CORP, TELLING US TO MOVE, IT ALSO TOLD US WHERE TO SEND THE NEXT MONTHS RENT, IT WAS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT, WE HAVE NOT YET RECEIVED ANY LEGAL EVICTIONS!
