Of the many things that prolific playwright and poet William Shakespeare created in staggeringly large numbers in his 52 years, few have proved as adaptable, insightful and enduringly relevant as his insults. Like a 16th century Capt. Haddock, Shakespeare helped us re-discover language by hurling it at us with sweet, poisonous glee.
