Theater Cirque du So Late

According to the circus company, the show "still needs more time to ripen." Other banana puns are rampant on the web, which we'll spare you. "Shpeel," whose residence at the Beacon Theater prevented the Allman Brothers from jamming there in March as they have for decades, played in Chicago last year, where critics trounced it. Another Cirque du Soleil show (to which we have been invited!), "Ovo," seems still to be on track for its April 9 opening at Randall's Island.
