Kings of Cleats Pull Upset To Win the First Ever Art Handling Olympics

Posted by on Mon, Mar 22, 2010 at 4:48 PM

We didn't go to the first ever Art-Handling Olympics, which, as I mentioned last week, took place yesterday at Ramiken Crucible on the Lower East Side, but our older cousins at ArtsBeat and the NY Daily News did. The former offer an especially vivid recap of all five grueling stages in the event—including details on the mysterious final round, "The Eliminator", in which the last two teams had to assemble a junk artwork without directions or curatorial feedback—while the latter shot this hilarious video of the games. Here's hoping this becomes an annual tradition.
