News Global Warming Solves Border Dispute by Submerging Contested Territory

The AP reports: "For nearly 30 years, India and Bangladesh have argued over control of a tiny rock island in the Bay of Bengal. Now rising sea levels have resolved the dispute for them: the island has gone."
The maritime borders between the two countries remain in dispute—as they presumably will continue to be, as rising sea levels make Bangladesh an increasingly maritime country, as scientists anticipate. Really, it takes an epoch-defining ecological crisis to see that the problems of two little countries don't amount to a hill of rocks in this ever-more-watery world. Why get so upset about healthcare when soon enough we'll all be breathing through gills and distilling drinking water from our own urine?
