Rising Downtown theater company
The Amoralists' latest show,
Happy in the Poorhouse, marks a big move for the company from Off-Off to just Off-Broadway (at
Theater 80, former home of the Pearl Theater Company), a higher profile and higher ticket prices, and given this morning's announcement from the company that their show will extend for two weeks, it seems to be paying off. The raucous comedy by Derek Ahonen about a dysfunctional Coney Island family will begin a ten day break on its original closing date, April 5, and then return for its extension from the 15th through April 26.
