As long as I'm on the Famous Patrons of Public Libraries beat, I should disseminate this report stating that Keith Richards's forthcoming autobiography will dwell on his love of literature, and interest in librarianship: Keef "has even considered 'professional training' to manage thousands of books at his homes..."
The piece continues: "[Richards] started to arrange the volumes... by the librarian’s standard Dewey Decimal classification system but gave up on that as 'too much hassle.'" So now he just puts the books any damn place he chooses.
In all seriousness, though, Dewey can be daunting, and rather impractical, for a home library. Richards may wish to consider the simpler BISAC classification system. Alternately, online cataloging systems like LibraryThing and Bookpedia allow users to easily import the classification data of their choice for their books, and organize them accordingly (and reorganize, crucial for someone who owns multiple homes). Perfect for a busy fellow like Keef, who probably doesn't have time to classify what with the getting his blood replaced all the time.
