Jeff Koons knows a thing or two about designing expensive vehicles, so it's no surprise that his mock-up for this year's BMW Art Car (pictured), won't just be painted onto a showroom model—as tends to be the case with this invitational art+commerce-work—but will actually be slapped onto a Beamer for the 24 Hours Le Mans race near Paris in June.
Incidentally, some art automobile fan just uploaded a video featuring footage of all the previous BMW art cars that have been used in races, including ones by Roy Lichtenstein, Alexander Calder, Andy Warhol, Frank Stella, and others. Clearly, an all-art cars race is in order. Check it out after the jump. (ArtsBeat)
