Manhattan Bridge Anchorage Doubling as Video Art Screen Through Saturday

Posted by Benjamin Sutton on Thu, Apr 8, 2010 at 4:55 PM

Beginning this evening at 7:30pm and continuing through midnight on Saturday, the massive wall of the Manhattan Bridge Anchorage in Dumbo (where Front and Pearl Streets intersect at Anchorage Place) will serve as a screen for a video art projection. The exhibition, Force of Forward, has been curated by Leo Kuelbs for the Department of Transporation's Urban Art Program, and will feature works by four artists: Alex Villar dribbling backwards through the city; another beautiful cycling movie by Daniel Leeb of Williamsburg's Cinecycle; an experimental train-themed montage by Tamas Veszi; and a multi-channel project by Christine Schulz. More information on the show is here, and here's an excerpt from Villar's funny piece, Dribbling the Field (2003):
