News BK Borough Prez Calls DOT Commissioner a "Zealot" Over Prospect Park West Bike Lanes, Which, BTW, Should Be Finshed This Summer

The plan, one of many projects which Marty sees as evidence that Sadik-Khan "wants to make it difficult, [drivers'] life difficult," for which he also called her a "zealot," involves eliminating one lane of car traffic and some parking spaces to create two protected bike lanes and slow down traffic on the highway-like stretch of street between Park Slope and Prospect Park. The plan was originally announced last fall, but delayed because of Markowitz's nay-saying, and is now expected to begin construction in June, according to the Brooklyn Paper. Hopefully it will be finished just in time for Marty to bike safely to this summer's free outdoor concerts at the Prospect Park bandshell. (Curbed)
