Then, in June last year, the company canceled the play altogether, without explanation. LaBute told the Times he wanted to work on another draft.
Which, presumably, he has finished. MCC has announced its line-up for the 2010-2011 season, which includes Break of Noon, as well as new works by Sharr White and Michael Weller. (The latter's new play, Side Effects is conceived as a sort of follow-up to his Fifty Words—which was in production back when the theater company first announced LaBute was being pushed back!)
Good things come to those who wait? Except for the multitudes who despise enfant terrible LaBute, of course.
