Video: Jeff Mangum Played Five Neutral Milk Hotel Songs at the Chris Knox Benefit Last Night

Posted by on Fri, May 7, 2010 at 7:25 AM

Well, this is certainly not a bad thing to wake up to. At Le Poisson Rouge last night, during a benefit for Chris Knox of New Zealand cult-favorites Tall Dwarfs, Jeff Mangum played more Neutral Milk Hotel songs than he's played live, in total, since 2001: "In the Aeroplane Over the Sea," "A Baby for Pree," "Two Headed Boy Part 2," "Engine" and "Oh Comely." To get a feel for the impact this dude still has on people, take note of the silence that falls on the room about five seconds in. And then take note of how it stays that way for the next eight minutes.
