Though it hasn't literally been taken down (because it's illegal), the centerpiece of Shepard Fairey's city-wide street art blitzkrieg of OBEY murals (I recently spotted two more, one in Williamsburg on Wythe right across from Relish, another in Gowanus on Union at the canal), on the Deitch Wall at Bowery and Houston, was taken down several notches by graffiti artists ADEK, JADE, FUCT and (illegible) over the weekend. His exhibition at Deitch Projects closes on the 29th, and might be calm enough now to actually go see. (ANIMAL)
