Mayday! Shepard Fairey Bowery Mural Bombed in a Big Way

Though it hasn't literally been taken down (because it's
illegal), the centerpiece of
Shepard Fairey's city-wide street art
blitzkrieg of OBEY murals (I recently spotted two more, one in Williamsburg on Wythe right across from Relish, another in Gowanus on Union at the canal), on the Deitch Wall at Bowery and Houston, was taken down several notches by graffiti artists ADEK, JADE, FUCT and (illegible) over the weekend. His exhibition at
Deitch Projects closes on the 29th, and might be calm enough now to
actually go see. (
