Your Pictures of the BP Oil Spill Making Landfall Are Here, and Just as Hopelessly Tragic as You'd Feared

With Mark away in a country where this sort of thing would probably never happen, I suppose it falls to me to point you in the direction of the horribly
beautiful photography afforded by such a disgusting disaster as the
BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. As of this morning, Big Picture has a
stunning photo set of oil from the Deepwater Horizon oil rig explosion and subsequent spill reaching the shores of Louisiana and their animal inhabitants. To be honest, not so many of these are scarily beautiful; they're mostly just filthy. Take a moment
to look.
