In his short documentary Pixel (after the jump), Aussie animator Simon Cottee talks to artists working in different sectors of the retro video game art and chiptune music scenes, including game designers Jason Rohrer and Joe Brumm, and 8-bit music composer Alex Yabsley. In addition to discussing the genre's ancestry in Atari games, and the current pixel art movement, they liken the properties of pixels to the paint daubs in pointillism.
