Paul Ramirez Jonas's
Key to the City public artwork-scavenger hunt-mass performance begins today, so head to Times Square to get your free key from the booth on Broadway between 43rd and 44th, hop on your bike/subway/kayak/feet and start unlocking stuff! Your key gets you past at least four
locks in each borough, from a mysterious box at the Whitney Museum
coat check, to the private garden of the
Staten Island Buddhist Vihara, a locker at
Gleason's Gym in Dumbo and a secret
between-the-walls space at the Brooklyn Museum (pictured). The
project continues through June 27, so you can hit all 24 locks at a rate of one per day, if you really want to.
