Britain to Brooklyn to Broadway: Brief Encounter Will Stay a While

Brief Encounter
The UK's Kneehigh Theater made a really good impression late last year, sneaking in a front-runner for many New York theater critics' Best of 09 lists when they brought (and extended) their show Brief Encounter to St. Ann's Warehouse in Dumbo. Yesterday ArtsBeat reported that the multimedia show, which is based on the eponymous 1945 film, which was in turn adapted from Noel Coward's 1936 play Still Life, will be back for another encounter, this time on Broadway at Studio 54.

The production, a collaboration between Kneehigh and the Roundabout Theater, will begin performances on September 10, open September 28, and close on December 5. This is one Broadway multimedia spectacle that we can absolutely vouch for.
