Days after the a
Drake show at South Street Seaport was canceled because some members of the huge crowd started throwing bottles and chairs and just generally being dickheads, word comes that the city has
called off a free Jay-Z show that was in the works for this coming Monday, atop the Ed Sullivan Theater, where Paul McCartney performed last year. "There was discussion of a concert," said Julianne Cho, speaking on behalf of the Mayor's Office of Film, Theater and Broadcasting, "and ultimately it was decided there would be no permit." One would like to have been a fly on the wall in that office when this decision was made, of course, because one fears this is maybe not entirely about permits. [
