Filmmaker Q&As at Northside!

Posted By on Tue, Jun 22, 2010 at 3:55 PM

We mentioned earlier today that Zeina Durra, director of The Imperialists Are Still Alive, will be on hand for a Q&A following her film's screening at the Northside Film Festival. Now, if you're anything like me, you've found that seeing what a filmmaker looks like really helps you to get a handle on what her film is all about. So, with that in mind, we're doing our best to bring filmmakers out for their Northside screenings. To wit:

-Todd Solondz, director of Welcome to the Dollhouse, Happiness, and other party favorites, will be on hand on Saturday night to talk about his forthcoming Life During Wartime.

-Rooftop Films's Brooklyn Shorts program, on Sunday, will feature no fewer than three (3) of the local filmmakers featured.

-And late on Friday night, following The L's presentation of NY Export: Opus Jazz, I'll be moderating a question-and-answer session with the film's producer, Ellen Bar, and codirector Jody Lee Lipes. This should be very exciting for those of you who find that seeing what a film critic looks like really helps you to get a handle on what his review is all about (hint).
