Northside Art Spotlight: Top 10 Trophies from Parker's Box 10th Anniversary Exhibition

Posted by on Fri, Jun 25, 2010 at 2:39 PM

To celebrate 10 years in Williamsburg, Grand Street mainstay Parker's Box asked artists current, past and associated to create or contribute a trophy and made their main gallery over into a trophy room. There, hanging proudly through Sunday, are over 65 artists' variations, parodies and reinterpretations of trophies, mounted animal heads, plaques and celebratory insignia. Some are high-tech, like Ward Shelley's Pig Head Camera, while others are cleverly minimalist and DIY, like Patrick Martinez's two metal coat hooks hung to look like animal horns. Check out our other favorites from this great show that stays up through the end of Northside, along with performances by Rob List.
