City Deploys New Sidewalk Water Stations Just in Time

Posted by on Tue, Jul 6, 2010 at 10:40 AM

NYC Water-On-the-Go
On Sunday Mayor Bloomberg was in Downtown Brooklyn to unveil the first of a fleet of ten mobile water stations that will be set up at points around the city throughout the summer. Each of the six-tapped mega-water fountains will be on the move all over the city from now until Labor Day weekend (you can see where, sort of, on this website), although certain locations like Times Square seem more or less constant. Each station hooks up to a fire hydrant, providing pedestrians and cyclists with convenient oases of delicious Catskills water. That's one more thing New York City's does better than Stevens Point, Wisconsin. (Gothamist)
