Watch Anti-BP Art Activists Spilling "Oil" on the British Museum

Posted by Benjamin Sutton on Tue, Jul 13, 2010 at 4:32 PM

BP, currently bringing still more oil to the Gulf coast, also brings funding to many museums in London, which has recently made said institutions targets for anti-BP demonstrators. After tarring and feathering the Tate last month (video after the jump), a group of black-veiled performance art activists known alternately as Liberate Tate and Culture Beyond Oil just visited a BP-sponsored exhibition at the British Museum and spilled oil-like molasses from BP-branded egg-shaped containers all over the display. No art, wildlife or wetlands were harmed during the demonstration.
