Last week, we heard "Stranded
," the promising (if also now slightly misleading), horn-laden first single from The Walkmen's forthcoming fifth full-length, Lisbon
, and today Stereogum alerts us to another. "Blue As Your Blood
" is less startling, more in keeping with what we've come to expect from the Walkmen: it's a gently propulsive, light-footed song that seems always to be building to something. Taking what almost feels like a page from the National playbook, though, it never really does. And it's ok. One gets the feeling Lisbon
might be an album best experienced as a whole.
