Music Alejandro Escovedo Stops By Letterman

I've only recently gotten around to listening to Alejandro Escovedo's new album, Street Songs of Love, but it's revealing itself as one of my favorites of the year. It's a remarkably tidy collection of expertly crafted alt-country songs, with elements of soul and the blues as a bonus. In short, it's what you wanted that terrible new Tom Petty record to be.
