Drink (But Don't Make Noise!) at Brooklyn Bridge Park

Brooklyn Bridge Wine Bar
There's a noisy, drunken battle brewing at the newly opened Brooklyn Bridge Park on the Dumbo and Brooklyn Heights waterfront: The same week that Brooklyn Heights residents declared that they hate the best thing about summer (outdoor movies, specifically those shown on Thursday nights in the new park), one of those neighborhood-wrecking wine bars started serving on the green pier. Fun-hating locals find the outdoor movies too noisy, a gripe only likely to be extenuated as the 4,500 or so weekly attendees (at least those of legal drinking age) start buying wine and Brooklyn beers from Brooklyn Bridge Wine Bar (pictured), which started serving alcohol at noon on Friday. All aggrieved and grog-sipping parties should make peace over Calexico burritos (and come see how everyone gets along at SummerScreen). (DumboNYC)
