On October 25, Nintendo will
release its new game
Art Academy for Nintendo DS (pictured), which combines all 10 lessons from both its preceding downloadable gaming apps "
First Semester" and "
Second Semester,"
teaching players art-making skills that "are transferable to real-life art materials outside of the Nintendo DS environment." Riiiiight.
Lessons will teach you everything a hand-held game console can explain "about color, shading, movement and perspective," while providing "everyone from beginners to experts with tools to create their own works of art." As much as I really like video game art, this doesn't even qualify as a video game, or as art, much less a combination of the two. (ArtInfo)
