News Vans Building an Indoor Skatepark "Laboratory" in Greenpoint

Before you get too excited, unless you're a Vans-sponsored professional skater, you probably won't get to use this planned indoor skatepark testing ground on Franklin Street. The old-school California shoe company will be repurposing the Odwalla Beverage building as a testing ground for products and as a place for pro skaters to use in winter—all in an effort to raise their East Coast profile.

Sorry, local skaters, if I got your hopes up (there won't even be a Vans store at the location), but it looks like you're just going to have to turn pro.
