Yesterday, following news of Dumbo pizza palace Grimaldi's apparently
imminent eviction, we worried we might soon starve (couldn't
Michelle Obama procure a presidential pardon?), but the
Brooklyn Paper reports that owner Frank Ciolli won't move it
to Chelsea before serving landlord Dorothy Waxman a hot lawsuit with toppings. Ciolli plans to hand the Florida-based landlord a check for the outstanding rent (around $44,000) at a court hearing tomorrow, but Waxman will be seeking a Supreme Court eviction notice for the twenty year tenant of 19 Old Fulton Street (presumably in order to charge the next tenant much higher rent). Grimaldi's will live to prepare another pie!
