Win Tickets to Deer Tick Tonight at Webster Hall

Posted by on Fri, Aug 13, 2010 at 11:01 AM

Sure, Deer Tick stays within their sad-white-guy-with-guitar niche, but they've made some of the best records out there in current sad-white-guy guitar land, with John McCauley's scratchy, whiskey-soaked vocals tugging at subtle, melancholy melodies. Come September, they're headed off to faraway lands like Brussels and Manchester in support of their latest album, The Black Dirt Sessions, but you can catch them tonight at Webster Hall by e-mailing deertick@thelmagazine.com by 12:30pm today. We'll close our eyes, spin around a few times, and point to a random winner on our computer screen, who'll walk away with a pair of tickets. Doors at 6:30pm, Matt Vasquez of the Delta Spirit opens, must be 18+ (venue's rules, not ours).

Maybe they'll play this insanely amazing cover of Sean Kingston's "Beautiful Girls." Maybe. Please. Please?
