Still looking for proof that the music industry is not exactly functioning the way it used to? Well, how 'bout now that a relatively big-name artist has gone and released a brand new EP with absolutely no warning, on a Friday afternoon in the dog days of summer, and only on the internet? Sufjan Stevens' All Delighted People is streaming for free right now, with MP3s available for $5 through his Bandcamp page. The 8-song, 60-minute (!) EP will be available from iTunes on Monday, and as a CD/2XLP in December, through Stevens' label, Asthmatic Kitty.
As for the music, I haven't gotten real far just yet (that's what the weekend is for; sorry, shitty new Interpol record, you will have to wait), but here, listen...
