"A surprise option the MTA unveiled Monday," the Daily News reports, proposes $130 for a monthly unlimited Metrocard, $38 for a weekly unlimited card, $2.50 for a single fare. (Previously circulated fare hike proposals are $104 monthly, $29 weekly.)

Floating this proposal, the MTA said in a statement, was a way "to allow enough flexibility for the board to incorporate public input in making its final decision," or, if you prefer, "to make you take the $104 monthly unlimited card and like it."
