News Thank You Mr. Mayor: Bloomberg Passionately Defends Park51 (aka the Scary Death Mosque)

Sometimes we love ya, lil buddy.

Maybe it's just the courage of a third(!) and final term, but I gotta hand it to Mayor Bloomberg for being the only politician of national prominence with the guts to aggressively defend Park51 (aka the Death Mosque That Will Destroy Us All With Its Sufi Violence), and highlight just how close this "debate" is to the very core of what it is to love America. We've never really liked him much, but hats off for last night's address to the Muslim-Americans who broke their Ramadan fast at Gracie Mansion:

We must put our faith in the freedoms that have sustained our great country for more than 200 years, [we must uphold] American values. If we say that a mosque and community center should not be built near the perimeter of the World Trade Center site... we would undercut the values and principles that so many heroes died protecting.

Yup, he's right.
