Yup, this is a big one (considering the old age was 22, which made graduating from college just that much scarier). And though it means American youth will now take even longer to grow up (38 is the new 23), I'm glad to see governmental recognition of the "post-collegiate" years as a legitimate and increasingly difficult transitional period—long gone are the days when kids just waltzed out of college and into real jobs, with real health plans. But you know who else recognizes these tough years, and provides institutional support to the under-26s? The country of Europe. And you know what else Europe has? Socialism. [Yes! Pumps fist.]
