ROBOTS rooftop sculpture in Bushwick

Update: The creators of the "Brooklyn Griffin," from the British street art crew ROBOTS, spoke to art blog Dust Project about the project. The giant wooden bird took about a week to build, including a police interruption and a transformation from robot into griffin. Read the whole interview here.

Original post: No, it's not another attempt at mysterious viral marketing for a movie about robots, it's a sculpture made by (British, possibly?) street art crew ROBOTS out of scrapped wooden palettes and skateboard decks on the top of a building at the corner of Meserole and Waterbury in Bushwick.

According to this Facebook photo album on the project, it's called the "Brooklyn Griffin," although it seems to be more eagle than lion. Check it out next time you're ridin' round Bushwick on your Pegasus bike. (WoosterCollective)
