Morrissey Calls Chinese a "Subspecies"

Posted By on Fri, Sep 10, 2010 at 12:29 PM

Last week, the erstwhile Smiths-frontman told The Guardian that "you can't help but feel that the Chinese are a subspecies." (It took a week for our copy of the paper to arrive via steamship.) Of course, it was because the famously vegetarian Morrissey was offended by China's lack of animal protection laws, and the abuse that animals suffer there, particularly in circuses and zoos.

Of course, the way any culture across the globe treats animals isn't much better. And if we're all subspecies, then none of us are. Right?
