And Now, Your Winner of the Play Guitar With Pavement Contest, Which You Probably Don't Care About Anymore

Posted by on Wed, Sep 22, 2010 at 4:40 PM

Remember how just a week ago, before there were actual Pavement shows to talk about, everyone was so concerned with the Play Guitar With Pavement contest, the winner of which would be given the chance to perform with the band during an appearance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon? Yeah, well, how quickly things have changed. The winner was announced on Monday night's episode, and no one seemed to care.

Turns out I was wrong in predicting that that one female finalist would win—instead, the top vote-getter was Steve Goss from Oklahoma City, a.k.a. the dude in the bathtub, a.k.a the dude who was trying too hard to seem like he wasn't trying too hard. The show was taped this afternoon, and will air tonight, just a little while after you get home from Central Park.
