Tonight: Tacos, Tequila and Blank Dogs

La Tortilleria Los Hermanos, the diamond in the rough taco stand situated on a barren street in Bushwick, looks a little like a bomb shelter. Weirdly enough, it makes for a logical place for a band like Blank Dogs to play — a secret hideaway closed off by a garage door, just like Blank Dogs' murk masks New Order new wave. Tonight it plays host to the band (hear an awesome new song from their forthcoming album here) and a handful of other DIY types, including Snakes Say Hisss!, Sweet Bulbs and the satisfyingly fuzzy, poppy punk of I'm Turning Into.

It's the first show in a new monthly series taking place in the tortilla factory's warehouse, each booked by Bushwick-based Newtown Radio, who we like quite a bit, with the goal to raise money for cleaning up the grossly polluted neighborhood creek. As an added bonus, the kitchen's open all the night and the tequila bar will be flowing freely (or at least while supplies last). Seriously. Free tequila. For a good cause.

More info and full series lineup after the jump:
