Recommended: These Weird Menomena Videos Over at Pitchfork.tv

I am no great fan of this new POV Series they've been doing lately, where bands perform onstage and viewers are able to switch between six camera angles—it sounds great in theory, until you realize that, oh boy, the bands are all playing to an empty room, which is super weird and makes for some hilariously lifeless performances. Anyway, they're currently running video of the band Menomena, and they too are performing in an empty room, but to much greater effect. It's an empty classroom, so you get the nice, classic green chalkboard as a background, with the band lined up in a straight line across it. The camera work is great, and the effects are a welcome surprise—especially when they appear to have stolen some set materials from the most recent school play. Good stuff.
