Heads Up! Another NYPD Crackdown on Sneaky Cyclists

Bike Cop crackdown NYPD
In reaction to a perceived rise in accidents involving cyclists, pervasive antipathy towards bikers and bike lane beefs in Brooklyn and Downtown Manhattan, the NYPD will be stepping up their enforcing of traffic rules as they apply to cyclists, reports the Times. Patron saint of the city's cyclists, Janette Sadik-Khan, said: “We have been friendly to cyclists. Now it’s time for cyclists to be friendlier to the city.” Exactly how, when or where this increased police focus on nabbing lawless bikers will be enforced is left unaddressed, but, you know, just be a little more sneaky when slipping through a deserted red light, and just don't fucking ride on the sidewalk, or in the wrong direction, or without a helmet, and you'll probably be fine—as opposed to fined.
