Salman Rushdie to Spend Lunchtime Tomorrow Signing Books in Dumbo

Salman Rushdie's most underrated book is his 1990 novel for children, Haroun and the Sea of Stories, in which the young hero travels to the nocturnal netherworld where stories come from, saving his family and the world of stories from eternal gloom and bland realism. He's just produced a sequel of sorts, Luka and the Fire of Life, about Haroun's younger brother; if you work in Dumbo, or don't work at all but still get out of the house at a semireasonable hour, you should know that he'll be signing copies of the book at the powerHouse Arena, at 37 Main Street in Dumbo, right next door to the L's offices. He'll probably have lunch at Grimaldi's after, that's what people who bring for-serious security details to Dumbo during the daytime usually do.

It's weird that Rushdie's appearance in Dumbo doesn't fall on one of the days that Gossip Girl shoots here—especially now that Blake Lively is single again, a fact of which Sir Salman is most likely aware, you'd think.
