The Quidditch World Cup: This Is a Thing That Actually Happened in NYC This Weekend

While Ohio State was beating Penn State in football on Saturday (woooo!), 46 teams (Penn State included) battled it out on broomsticks at DeWitt Clinton Park as part of the fourth annual Quidditch World Cup, the ultimate title in the Harry Potter-birthed sport for which I'll let the above video speak. Twenty-four teams advanced into Sunday's play-offs where defending champions, the Middlebury Midd Kids, took out Tufts in the championship game. Congrats all around, especially to the hometown NYU team, who managed to incorporate purple flannel into their uniforms. Doing us proud, Violets.
