5 Under 35: In Which the National Book Foundation Gets Us Drunk and Depressed and We Have the Pictures to Prove It

Posted by on Tue, Nov 16, 2010 at 1:29 PM

Every year, the National Book Foundation has a 5 Under 35 event, at which five established authors glowingly introduce readings by emerging writers under the age of 35. To trick people into attending an event specifically designed to torment them with their comparative lack of achievement of which they were already glaring aware thank you very much, attendees are promised free alcohol, and the presence of celebrities. This year's 5 Under 35 read last night at the powerHouse Arena, in an event emceed by Roseanne Cash and DJ'ed by Rob Sheffield; here are some pictures.
