Artist Plants Pink Tree in 6th Ave-14th St Subway

Subway art.

Did you notice anything unusual as you switched between the L, F, M, 1, 2 3 or PATH at 14th Street and Sixth Avenue yesterday? Like, say, an artist's attempt to add a little life and whimsy to the subway ecosystem by planting a branch/root to the ceiling above the platform? Though it's presumably been uprooted by now, the anonymous artist told Subway Art Blog that this was just the first in a series of subway installations, and she's working on making them more durable. Roxy Paine could probably offer her some pointers there.
