News The Dog We Just Rescued Appears in ABC's NYC Animal Shelter Exposé!!!

Not only has the CACC's budget been drastically reduced over the last year, it has suffered from chronic mismanagement at most of the upper-level positions, a very unfortunate reality that has led to some of the terrible conditions illustrated in the video below. Also in the ABC news video below? A great pit bull named Luna (pictured at right) who we recently pulled from the Brooklyn CACC on the morning of her scheduled execution (and who is currently curled up next to me on the couch, her head on my lap). She makes a brief (and worried) appearance at 2:09.
Obviously, that's really depressing, and if you can, any little donation always helps. But what the story unfortunately doesn't talk about is the fact that problem is certainly not with the on-the-ground workers at the CACC, it's with upper management and the series of bizarre, self-serving decisions they've made over the last few years (more on which later). I repeat, everyone I've ever met who works on a day-to-day basis with the animals really does care, and seems like they're doing their best in a bad situation...
