Finally, a cooking competition that makes all of its contestants and judges feel like giants. Tonight, Un-Supersize Me kicks off at Greenpoint Open Studios after Keep the Home Fires Burning, an affordable art show with all pieces priced under $300. Ten bucks gets you a raffle ticket and entrance to a wonderland of miniature empanadas, burgers, cupcakes and more. If you're feeling competitive, you can enter for free; all you have to do is cook enough bites for 50 people and you have a chance of winning a $100 gift certificate from the Brooklyn Kitchen.
8pm-11pm, 67 West Street, 2nd Fl

Tonight also would be a great time to try the newly liquor-licensed Le Comptoir, the hip little French bistro that opened up a little while ago in Williamsburg. Expect European and New World wines along with local craft brews. [via FREEwilliamsburg]

Saturday and Sunday
Artists & Fleas in Williamsburg is going full foodie this weekend with tons of awesome Brooklyn vendors. Team Robicelli will be there serving their mind-blowing cupcakes, Laena McCarthy of Anarchy in a Jar will be selling her gourmet preserves, Nachos NY will be serving ... well, nachos. Stop by on Saturday from 1pm-2:30pm to get a book signed by the author of The Art of Eating In, Cathy Erway.

Sure, we all love the pies over at Motorino and Paulie Gee's, but the true pizza obsessive knows how to bake his/her own pizzas (it's not hard, trust us). Luckily the Brooklyn Kitchen is holding its very own pizza-making class with master pizzaoili Anthony Falco and Angelo Womack of Roberta's. The class costs $75 and all you have to bring with you is your own two hands and perhaps a bad fake Italian accent.
