Music Is Williamsburg Getting Another New Record Store?

Last week, Racked NY reported on some activity at at 536 Metropolitan Avenue, a once-empty storefront that now has signage saying "Fool's Gold Records," along with some fine print saying "Established 2007." Logic dictates that the space will somehow be associated with Fool's Gold Records, a label that was founded in 2007 (see that?) by DJs A-Trak and Nick Catchdubs and is known for releasing music by Kid Sister, Chromeo, The Cool Kids, Duck Sauce and many other electro-minded artists.
The question, of course, is what exactly will be inside? Will it be merely an office space for the label? Will it be a record store? Some combination of the two? And if it is a store, what will the inventory be like? We reached out to the Fool's Gold publicist, asking exactly those questions, and after telling us he'd ask A-Trak himself for an explanation, he wrote back saying simply, "I'm not able to comment on this at the moment. Details forthcoming, keep your ears peeled." And so we will. You should as well.
