After a few delays, Panda Bear — he of wishy-washy vocals, colorful synths, and this sweatshirt — announced today that his long-awaited follow-up to 2007's Person Pitch will arrive on April 19 via Animal Collective's own Paw Tracks label. To this, L Mag music editor Mike Conklin says, "So that just means he's re-releasing all his 7-inches that have been coming out the last few months," which is true, but Tomboy will be bundled with previously unreleased material as well, so my enthusiasm is not without cause, nor is the following letter:

Dear Panda,

Would you like to play the 2011 Northside Festival? It is taking place June 16-19 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and will be lots of fun. Please reply.

Your friend,
Lauren
