Two days after opening his big show of paintings at Paul Kasmin Gallery in Chelsea, Kenny Scharf returned to his Lower East Side mural, a popular target for graffiti writers (especially following the artist's perceived provocations).
Several bloggers and tweeters were on the scene Saturday afternoon and evening to see Scharf spray-painting over graffiti, restoring the mural's Pop-toned cartoon smileys. Apparently their snowman surveillance guard wasn't doing his job.
