Food & Drink / News Fun-Hating NY Blood Center Pulls Out of Kelso Brewery's "Pint for a Pint" Blood Drive

Fun fact: if you've made an appointment to donate blood tomorrow night at Kelso, the New York Blood Center has not yet told you not to show up. But don't, please, as there'll be no one there to collect your blood.
The BP reports that the Blood Center told Kelso brewmaster Kelly Taylor on Monday that they weren't, after all, comfortable with the beer-for-blood exchange. The blood drive had been reasonably well-publicized by that point: a friend of The L had made an appointment to donate last Friday evening, via the NY Blood Center's website, and received email confirmation shortly thereafter. Despite the Monday conversation, she has not yet received a cancellation notice; the drive is no longer listed on the Blood Center's website. Maybe she's just supposed to figure out on her own that the Blood Center got cold feet about associating themselves with demon local craft drink?
