Mourners and revelers gathered in Coney Island on Sunday to host a New Orleans-style jazz funeral for the neighborhood and its amusement area. Organized by photographer and filmmaker James Demaria, the parade was led by Darryl "DancingMan504" and the Jambalaya Brass Band; it was meant to be a somber march that turned into a dance party, "all symbolizing Coney Island's 'death' and our hopes for its rebirth," according to the event's Kickstarter page.
